The Spark – From Research to Reality
Empaco did not start as a business. It began as research projects at a university: A large scale joint venture funded by the European Union to investigate how technology could transform elderly care.
During these scientific studies, groups of elderly participants were equipped with simple smartwatches. Their reactions, their behaviour and their quality of life were measured, monitored and frequently discussed with them. The results were clear: The technology did not just track data. It provided a sense of freedom and security they had not felt before. However, when the research projects ended and the participants had to return their devices, they felt disappointed and distressed.
Seeing this gap between temporary research and permanent need, we realized that these people did not need a study or an experiment. They needed a lifelong partner. Empaco was founded to turn that scientific insight into a permanent solution.

By monitoring vitals and location, we ensure that relatives and caregivers no longer must live in a state of constant worry but receive timely and accurate information about their loved ones.
